Head, Body, Heart.

Three very important subjects in that heading there. Three different things I have been neglecting for too long. I don’t do New Year’s Resolutions but I am doing a 1st March Start To New. So what am I talking about? I’m not really sure either but here goes.

1. Head.

Mine hasn’t been in a good place for a while. I have been looking at various parts of my life. Friends, family, work, etc. I can see friendships lost, job opportunities go past, experiences missed and I am starting to look at the part I have played in this. It has been very easy to blame others for my lack of opportunities for a long time. This is new for me so give me time. I am hoping that some amazing people who mean the world to me might want me back in their lives. First thing is getting my head straight and seeing life in a more positive way and start living instead of moping.

2. Body.

I did a couple of blogs back in 2018 of me getting fitter, healthier and thinner. Don’t worry, no shirt off photos in this blog. In my blog My Getting Into Shape Update I talk about going from 94.4kg with over 106cm waist  at the start of the year, down to 89.8kg with a 106cm waist in June before I really stepped up to look after myself and got down to 86kg with a 88cm waist. Late 2018 I hurt my back and stopped doing anything that was helping me stay fit. This added to the problem above (Head), which added to the bit below (Heart), which added to this bit (Body), which added to the problem above (Head), which added to the bit below (Heart), which added to this bit (Body), which continued to add to each other, continuously spiralling in a bad way, until this year I find myself heavier (94.5kg) and wider (107cm waist) than I was before I even decided to start looking after myself back in 2018.

So the First thing I’m doing is getting back into DDPY (DDP Yoga – It Ain’t Your Mama’s Yoga).

Please watch but get the tissue box close first. Although my backstory doesn’t go close to comparing with these guys, I still got a lot of success back in 2018 using the DDPY Now App.

Secondly, I am going to use my Apple Watch properly again and Close the Rings. There are 3 rings:-

Red: Move Ring. This measures how many kilojoules (calories) I burn in a day. Currently set at 2000kj, I will put it up by 100kj on the 1st of every month this year to keep pushing myself forward.

Green: Exercise Ring. Requires 30 minutes of actual exercise every day. I can push buttons to say I’m exercising but the watch can actually tell if I am or not. For example, I went for a 23minute walk today which registered as 13 minutes on the Green Ring.

Blue: Stand Ring. For one minute within every hour for 12 hours a day, I need to stand. Easier some days than others. If I sleep in and then go to bed early then there is no time for a movie that day.

3. Heart.

Find out what makes it tick. In the past I know how much I have loved performing, writing, creating, fundraising and blogging. This is my first blog in 6 months. I don’t know which of these I need in my life at the moment. I enjoy the blog so I will do more of these. I need to look into the others. Or something else but I need to create something on some level. When I don’t feed my Heart my Head and Body also suffer. So now is the time to stop feeling sorry for myself. Stop blaming others for my place in life. Start eating better and getting healthier. As DDP says “OWN YOUR LIFE!”
